Lunar Care Plan - Aries Edition
Healthcare and the moon go together like napalm and dynamite. Never fear, here is your survival guide for when the moon is in Aries. (Consequently, also a bit like napalm and dynamite.) However, with a little preparation, your shift will be smooth sailing and this guide will help you keep your head to not only survive, but thrive.
You can download any free app (I like TimeNomad and TimePassages for free apps and Luna for paid apps)) to view what sign the moon is in at any given time. As always, look to see how it is interacting with your own natal chart. These are very generalized observations that work well when dealing with a collective, but you, as an individual, will get better results by working with your individual chart.
NOTE: These are not about your NATAL moon placement. These are reflections on what the moon is doing right in the here and now.

Moon in Aries:
The Vibe:
When the moon is in a fire sign, the atmosphere is always a little, shall we say, festive.
Problems may arise in that what Aries thinks is a good time usually lands others in the ER. Expect a busy night and get plenty of rest the night before.
Prepare and self-care:
An Aries moon asks us to focus on our physicality in its self-care. It's the first sign of the zodiac and when Aries arrives, it wants people to know! it is born! and it is alive! Just as babies scream when they are birthed into the world, you may hear a scream or two during this lunation.
Hopefully not your own. Aries moon seeks physicality; it wants something real. When the moon is in Aries, your body may want to naturally seek a physical way of releasing stress. Either the bedroom or the gym, your body and mind will thank you for honoring this part of the lunar cycle. Take time before, during, and after your shift to just check in with your body. Sleep is also a deeply physical need. Do not skimp out on the sleep during this lunation.
Re-frame your shift:
Keywords:
Power struggle vs empowerment
Authoritarianism vs authenticity
Aries moon is a time for the expression of the authentic individual and what the Aries moon desires moreso than anything else is autonomy. When autonomy is not realized or allowed, then the energy can turn the heat up and things can get a little….spicy. You can see how this may create a tinderbox in a sector where patient autonomy is already minimized.
When you are dealing with patients, especially during an Aries moon phase, their autonomy has already been stripped to the bare minimum which sets this stage full of dried kindling just waiting for a spark. It will go a long way to improve your shift by empowering them and giving back a small piece of autonomy. I invite you to observe how this one small act can have major ripple effects on your shift and their experience while you are caring for them under an Aries moon. It is phenomenal.
An easy way to do this is to empower them with small choices, especially those that will not interfere with their treatment plan. Example: asking would you like ice water or juice; would you like a blanket or no blanket, etc. It doesn’t have to be anything that takes up a great deal of your time or their mental/emotional bandwidth.
This works because when you give someone a choice on their experience, what you are really doing is saying, “I see you as an individual and a human being. I respect you have individual needs and concerns. I see you.”.
These are some of the prime directives of Aries energy: to be seen and respected as a human individual. Period. The so-called negative aspects that may arise with an Aries moon often stem from this need not being met. No one wins in a fight during an Aries moon phase. No one. This is the crux of the energy to work with during an Aries moon - respecting yours and your patients autonomy and choices and by giving them validation when and where appropriate.
Offer this same re-framing with co-workers as well for an added layer of smoothness to your shift. Aries moon energy van be vibrant and joyful in its aliveness; grab it by the horns and enjoy the ride.
What to pack: Tylenol, high protein snacks, and most importantly sense of humor. You may want to keep stimulants such as caffeine and sugar to a minimum. Aries is an fiery energy and can literally be inflammatory and by being mindful to ingest foods/drinks which combat inflammation, it can assist the natural flow of the energy towards balance instead of excess. Peppermint can be a good choice for an essential oil. It clears the head, which Aries rules, and combats overly fiery energy with its cooling touch. Be aware peppermint oil can be caustic and is also known to cause respiratory distress in certain populations, especially neo-nates. Peppermint gum is a better, safer alternative if you are concerned about your patients. (Remember, just because something is natural, does not make it safer/better)
